Any person who dishonestly
appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of
permanently depriving the other of it. Section 1 (1) of the theft
act 1968
Always lock your bike up
Try to lock it nearest the
open part of the bike sheds, not at the back out of view
Get it post coded the
police in your area should do a free stamping, check 'em
out!
take a photo of your bike,
this helps police if you have it stolen and many bikes
end up in secondhand shops, a photo will avoid any doubts
it's yours
Mark lots of areas on the
bike eg; under the crank/pedals/under the seat/on the
wheel rim, but make sure you keep a record of where and
how it's marked. You've got to prove it's yours.
If someone takes money
from you under threats it's a very serious offence and
the police need informing as soon as possible.
Your reporting it could
save many children suffering in the future. One person
speaking out could encourage others to do the same.
If you do speak out you
will be respected by others. No-ones a 'grass' for
reporting a crime.
Have your school bag
marked with your name in it but not so it's easily
visible. Somewhere were you know it is and nobody else.
